Changing the Formatting Language
Because HotDocs Author is Unicode compliant, you can create a template in a language other than your own; to assist you in doing this, HotDocs provides the LANGUAGE instruction so you can instruct HotDocs to format any date and number values in your assembled document according the rules of your target language.
To create a template using characters other than those the Latin script, you must configure your computer's regional and language settings to enable you to type the characters of the desired character set.
To add the LANGUAGE instruction to your template
- Create your template, using document text in the your target language.
- Position the cursor within your template at the point where you want the LANGUAGE instruction to take effect so that HotDocs can apply the appropriate formatting to dates and number values.
- In the Action interface of the HotDocs Field Editor, click More.
- Under Other Operations, click Change the formatting language.
- From the Language drop down list, select the language you want to use for formatting date and number values, or type a language code (ex: en-AU) to indicate the language you want to use at this point.
- Click Add Field.
